Friday marks the end of the first week of the 2016-17 Student-built House Building Trades class. The week was spent getting to know each other and beginning the orientation process for the work ahead.
There are a total of 28 students in the class from Jefferson, Kennedy and Washington High Schools. There are 10 students in the morning class and 18 in the afternoon class.
Next week we will continue with some construction orientation and begin the construction safety training unit. The end of next week should see the class meeting at the construction site for the first time.
The class is off to a good start and we all look forward to working on another great Cedar Rapids Student-built House.
